Clear Aligners (Angel Aligners) in Abu Dhabi: Deep Bite and Crowded Teeth Correction
A deep bite and crowded lower front teeth were treated with Angel clear aligners under the care of Dr Saba Al Hadithi, Specialist Orthodontist in Abu Dhabi. Careful planning, small finishing adjustments and the patient’s commitment helped achieve a beautifully aligned smile.
The problem
This patient had a deep bite, where the upper front teeth covered too much of the lower front teeth when she bit together. She also had crowding, mainly in the lower arch, with overlapping lower front teeth.
Our aim was to straighten her teeth and improve how the upper and lower teeth fitted together.
Before treatment
The treatment plan
We chose Angel clear aligners to gradually align both arches and correct the deep bite.
The first stage included 20 active aligners, changed every 10 days. This meant around six and a half months for the initial series, followed by a refinement stage to make the final adjustments.
Creating space for the crowded teeth
To help the teeth line up, we gently broadened the upper and lower dental arches within the planned limits.
We also carried out 0.2 mm of interproximal reduction (IPR) between selected lower front teeth. This involves carefully removing a very small amount of enamel between teeth to create space for alignment.
Together, these steps gave the crowded lower teeth room to move into better positions.
Refinement: getting the final details right
After the first series, one lower front tooth still needed a small adjustment: the lower left central incisor, known as tooth 3.1. We used a refinement series of aligners to fine-tune its position and bring it into line with the neighbouring teeth.
Towards the end, we also used settling elastics. These small rubber bands helped the upper and lower teeth fit together more closely as we finished treatment.
Her commitment made a real difference
She wore her aligners for 22 hours a day and followed the planned 10-day changes.
That commitment played a big part in her result. Clear aligners rely on consistent wear to deliver the planned tooth movements. A carefully designed treatment plan and a patient who follows it make a strong team.
The result
By the end of treatment:
- The crowded lower front teeth were aligned
- The deep bite had improved
- Both dental arches were better aligned and coordinated
- The final refinement brought the lower incisor into position
- Settling elastics helped finish the bite
She was so happy with her new smile, and seeing that happiness was one of the most rewarding parts of the case.

Keeping the result
Retainers are an important part of care after clear aligner treatment. Following the prescribed retainer routine helps keep the teeth in their new positions and protects the result over time.
Can clear aligners treat a deep bite?
Clear aligners can treat deep bites and crowded teeth in suitable cases. The right choice depends on your bite, the movements needed and your ability to wear the aligners consistently.
